Who we’re looking for:
In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for the design, administration, and execution of Rover’s Total Rewards programs overseeing all aspects of the compensation programs (equity and cash) and partner with benefits brokers on health and welfare benefits plans supporting the organization’s ability to attract, recruit, and retain amazing talent for the company. Reporting to our Vice President of People and Culture, this role will require being both hands-on and strategic.
This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization, with a strong customer focus. Key focus and responsibility for this role will be regularly assessing and improving our global compensation framework and analyzing all benefit offerings to make the most competitive package in alignment with company objectives. Ideally, you are a systems thinker, your excel skills and ability to visualize proposals are top notch, but you are always thinking about the automation of repeatable processes.
Your Responsibilities:
- Compensation
- Evolve and steward Rover’s Compensation Program, including but not limited to our philosophy, structure, and decision-making practices & procedures.
- Lead annual and mid-year review cycles of compensation programs including design, administration, distribution, and communication and training.
- Conduct job evaluations, job leveling, and provide salary recommendations ensuring internal equity and market alignment of total compensation.
- Approve all new hire offers in alignment with Rover’s compensation philosophy including internal equity.
- Support and maintain pay transparency approaches.
- Partner with VP of HR on BOD / compensation committee frameworks and communications.
- Scale, monitor and continually update our equity frameworks and program design.
- Drive the annual compensation review process, including salary, bonus, and equity.
- Build and maintain job family structures and details for all employee positions, including job code creating, cleanup and data requests.

- Analyze country specific benefit trends and propose locally relevant benefits.
Your Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience with multi-location compensation, mixing cash and equity. Public company experience a plus.
- A comprehensive understanding of the “big picture” around compensation and how to deploy various levers effectively.
- Courage to challenge the status quo with innovative ideas around Compensation and Total Rewards and its evolving role in high-growth companies.
- Highly motivated and willing to take on multiple responsibilities at once.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills: demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
- Experience analyzing data and created meaningful, understandable models, reports that are easily digestible.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Developed concise presentations to illustrate and communicate related information.
- Experience analyzing compensation across multiple geographies - U.S. and non-U.S.
- Experience partnering, influencing, and working effectively with all levels of an organization.
- Experience with HRIS systems (reporting, maintenance, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

Compensation:
- In the greater Seattle area the first year total cash compensation (salary and bonus) range is $188,370 - $250,532. In Washington State out side of the greater Seattle area the first year total cash compensation (salary and bonus) range is $176,597 - $226,044. Additionally Rover offers equity (RSU’s) and benefits to all employees.
- The cash compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process.
