Requirements
  • 5-7+ years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical compounding, manufacturing, fulfillment, or a related operational environment.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced, regulated setting.
  • 2+ years of experience implementing and maintaining Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety standards.
  • The role requires technician certification within 8 months of the start date.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and operational reporting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of USP 795, USP 800, current Good Manufacturing Practices, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Food and Drug Administration regulations.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing production needs, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including walking, standing, and bending.
  • Ability to work any shift in the Pharmacy, Fulfillment, or Compounding teams in a 24/7 operation.
  • Knowledge of safe handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials used in compounding processes.
  • Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices and other regulatory requirements governing pharmaceutical compounding.
  • A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and a track record of implementing successful process optimization initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily production schedules to ensure timely delivery of compounded products.
  • Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal workflow.
  • Lead and supervise lab managers, pharmacy technician leads, and pharmacy technicians.
  • Provide direction, set expectations, foster collaboration and accountability, and conduct team meetings and 1:1 sessions.
  • Evaluate compounding processes and implement Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Monitor safety, quality, and productivity key performance indicators and generate regular progress reports.
  • Ensure compounding activities comply with USP, Food and Drug Administration, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and other relevant regulations.
  • Provide training, conduct safety audits, and enforce safety protocols.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock levels and the handling and storage of hazardous and non-hazardous substances.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Supply Chain teams to address operational challenges, resolve issues, and improve production efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs and ensure the smooth functioning of the compounding department.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with both sterile and non-sterile compounding procedures.
  • A bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, or Engineering.
