Closed Bristol Rite Aid signs new tenant.

Closed Bristol Rite Aid signs new tenant. A vacant retail space in the area will soon reopen as a discount retailer after sitting empty for more than a year. Dollar Tree will soon open at 452 Pond Street in Bristol Borough. Renovations on the 4,000-square-foot building have been underway throughout the summer. The opening date has not been announced, but recent employment listings suggest the store will open its doors in the coming weeks. Advertisements. The property has stood empty since last summer when Rite Aid shut down the location amid a corporate-wide bankruptcy and liquidation. County tax records state the building was constructed in 1975. The new location expands Dollar Tree's footprint in the borough. Dollar Tree has a store nearby on Commerce Circle. In early 2026, the retailer took over another former Rite Aid site at Five Points in the Levittown section of Bristol Township. Dollar Tree reported having 9,382 total stores as of Aug. 1, a figure that includes 75 newly opened locations, according to a regulatory filing. In a quarterly earnings report released Thursday, Dollar Tree posted net sales of $4.9 billion for the second quarter and 7% total sales growth. During an earnings call, it was stated that 710 locations have now transitioned to a multi-price model, according to executives. Dollar Tree shoppers were long accustomed to $1.25 price points, but the chain has increasingly added products priced up to $10 or more. Company leadership said earlier this year that higher-cost merchandise has been added as consumers and retailers face pressure from rising inflation, tariff costs, and higher gas prices. According to Dollar Tree, the shift is part of a plan to attract more middle- and higher-income consumers.
