Requirements
  • Less than a high school diploma.
  • The work is outdoors and exposed to changing weather conditions, including rain, sun, snow, and wind.
  • The role involves strenuous heavy physical activity of a primarily productive or technical nature.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
Responsibilities
  • Finish exposed surfaces of fresh concrete paving, median barriers, and concrete structures to the final trowel finish.
  • Operate a bridge deck finishing machine.
  • Form and finish edges and joints.
  • Finish concrete curbs and gutters.
  • Finish exposed concrete surfaces after forms have been removed by patching imperfections with fresh concrete and rubbing surfaces with an abrasive stone; direct others in removing excess or defective concrete with power tools.
  • Comply with safety policies, practices, and procedures, and report unsafe activities to a supervisor or Human Resources.
  • Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing knowledge and skills.
  • Perform other related duties.
