About the Company

BLADE

On-demand aerial passenger and cargo transport

Blade Air Mobility runs a technology-powered platform for urban air mobility, offering passenger and time-sensitive cargo flights using helicopters and amphibious aircraft. It uses an asset-light model, acting as an indirect air carrier by coordinating flights operated by DOT/FAA-licensed direct air carriers. The service covers the United States, Canada, Southern Europe, and India, with routes like Manhattan to New York City area airports, providing a faster alternative to congested ground transport. Revenue comes from selling seats on scheduled flights, chartering aircraft for private trips, and moving high-value cargo, including organs for transplant. The goal is to shorten travel and delivery times in crowded urban areas by coordinating efficient, on-demand air mobility services.
