About the Role
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the daily operations of The Lighthouse, with a focus on Café, Reception, and various support teams. As the #2 on the property, you’ll help ensure operational excellence, creativity, and member satisfaction across all departments while championing The Lighthouse’s ethos of collaboration and innovation.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Oversee all Café operations, including inventory management, vendor relations, financial tracking, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures while fostering a high-quality service environment.
- Lead and mentor the Café team in hiring, training, and scheduling while driving creativity by developing innovative menu items that align with the Café’s mission to nourish, fuel, and create time for members.
- Collaborate with various teams (Studio Techs, Events, Membership, Café, Reception, Stewarding, and Maintenance) to ensure smooth operations and support seamless event execution through logistics and coordination.
- Act as a escalation point for team members, facilitating problem-solving and ensuring challenges are resolved quickly and effectively across departments.
- Monitor and manage Café and Reception budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness while aligning with operational goals, and ensure compliance with labor laws to foster a fair workplace.
- Create and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations and maintain high service excellence.
- Lead by example, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment where creativity thrives.
- Mentor team leads and develops training programs that support day-to-day operations and long-term employee growth.
- Champion The Lighthouse’s mission, ensuring all teams align with the company’s values of creativity, collaboration, and community.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- 3-5 years of experience in hospitality, operations, or creative environments with a strong background in team management.
- Leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing teams across multiple departments.
- Operational expertise in managing front-of-house (Café, Reception) and support teams (Stewarding, Maintenance).
- Proven financial management experience, including P&L tracking and budgeting.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech-savvy, with experience using CRM systems like PeopleVine and POS systems such as Toast to enhance operations.
- A collaborative mindset, ready to work across departments to ensure smooth, creative operations.
- Passion for creativity and innovation, aligning with The Lighthouse’s mission to support and inspire creators.

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000 and serves as a general guideline reflecting the potential compensation for the role. The final salary offer will be determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as the candidate’s experience, expertise, alignment with the position’s requirements, and ultimately budget approvals.
