Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Test Technician to join our team. This person will focus on testing complex subsystems in our humanoid robot.
Responsibilities:
- Perform rigorous testing of subsystems to verify compliance with established specifications and performance standards, and adapt testing procedures where specifications are not yet fully defined.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues or discrepancies encountered during testing.
- Develop and implement new testing procedures.
- Automate testing processes and integrate automation systems to streamline workflow and increase productivity.
- Ensure all test equipment is properly maintained and in optimal working condition
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing testing processes and overall product quality.
- Use JIRA, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides, and email for effective communication, documentation, and reporting.
- Work efficiently under tight deadlines, adapting to changing priorities when necessary.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience working with complex electromechanical or robotic systems, including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Highly self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently while maintaining focus in dynamic environments and a passion for overcoming technical challenges.
- Extensive experience in full system architecture diagnostics, including the development and execution of organized, methodical diagnostic processes to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong capability to read and follow detailed assembly documentation, identifying and reporting any errors or inconsistencies for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in the use of a wide range of general hand tools and technical equipment required for assembly and diagnostics.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality across tasks and projects.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with Catia or other CAD-based software
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and C++
- Hands-on fabrication experience
- Expertise in PCB rework and soldering techniques
- Experience with DAQ (Data Acquisition) system setup and implementation
- Knowledge of small brushless motors and related components
- Familiarity with harmonic drives, clutches, and torque/force sensors
- Practical experience in robotics systems and integration
- Proficient in using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Slack for project management and communication
- Certification or knowledge of IPC-610, IPC-620, or J-Std-001 standards
