About the job
- A minimum S1 degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- One to two years of experience in open-pit geotechnical work, especially coal mining.
- Understanding of open-pit geotechnics and slope stability fundamentals.
- Ability to perform slope-stability monitoring and assessment.
- Proficiency with slope-stability analysis software such as Slope/W, Slide, or Plaxis.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as prisms and extensometers.
- Understanding of geotechnical mapping and measurement of strike/dip, joints, faults, folds, and cracks.
- Understanding of geotechnical drilling activities, including full coring, SPT, CPT, and DCP.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with relevant teams.
- Proficiency in Indonesian and English.
- Willingness to be assigned to a site and work according to operational needs.
- Monitor daily pit and disposal slope stability using prisms, extensometers, and visual observation with contractors.
- Conduct geotechnical scanline mapping to identify and measure strike/dip, joints, faults, folds, and cracks.
- Ensure all slope-stability monitoring tools function properly.
- Control pit geometry, including undercut, overcut, slope height, berm width, and potential water ponding and groundwater.
- Install and reposition monitoring tools in critical areas.
- Analyze pit and disposal slope stability using geotechnical software.
- Monitor Ground Water Level (GWL) and coordinate prism monitoring with the Surveyor team.
- Support supervision of geotechnical drilling activities, including full coring, SPT, CPT, and DCP.
- Prepare Geotechnical Hazard Maps and Critical and Risk Assessments periodically.
- POP certification is an added advantage.
