Requirements
  • Current licensure as required by the state board where services will be provided: Ohio licensure through the Ohio Board of Radiology, West Virginia licensure through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board, or no state license required in Pennsylvania.
  • Registration in an imaging modality through one of the following boards: American Registry of Radiological Technologists, Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • Five years of clinical experience in the radiologic sciences.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to differentiate various shades of gray as depicted on a black-and-white monitor or photograph.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours a day.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 10 pounds of weight.
  • Ability to carry items of up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to interact with patients, families, and members of the health care team.
  • Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations at any given time.
Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned radiology services to assure optimum performance of medical imaging, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in accordance with the institution's service and educational missions.
  • Manage section operations, budget, payroll, inventory, and equipment maintenance oversight in collaboration with leadership to ensure efficient, cost-effective service delivery.
  • Recommend and implement equipment, product, and system improvements in alignment with departmental goals.
  • Recruit, supervise, schedule, and evaluate technical and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures, including staff maintenance of required credentials, competencies, and performance standards.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality imaging services and patient care.
  • Lead quality assurance, audit, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and licensing standards.
  • Support clinical education programs and integration of students into the clinical environment.
  • Maintain professional, technical, and managerial competence through continuing education and professional involvement.
  • Build collaborative relationships with physicians, medical physics, hospital departments, and system partners.
  • Address customer service concerns and participate in committees and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Work in office and clinical settings.
