Responsibilities
  • Develop and deploy on-premises, external, and hybrid high-performance computing and cloud research platforms.
  • Develop and integrate supporting artificial intelligence and machine learning models, agentic workflows, and agentic engineering services.
  • Develop high-performance computing and cloud security principles, protocols, and practices from secure supply chain to [source statement ends unfinished].
  • Enhance modern development practices through DevSecOps and agile methodologies.
  • Advance existing hardware- and software-level Infrastructure as Code automations.
  • Create high-performance computing and cloud architectural designs and documentation.
  • Implement observability, telemetry, and monitoring solutions to collect and analyze system insights and performance data.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preferred source degree programs include Computer Science or Computer Engineering from the College of Engineering, Cybersecurity from Information Sciences and Technology, or Management Information Systems from the Smeal College of Business.
  • U.S. Military ROTC, veteran, or reservist service is preferred.
  • Interim Secret or higher security clearance is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, and CNCF tools including Kubernetes, K3S, Rancher, Longhorn, Keycloak, and Kyverno is preferred.
  • Experience with Cloud Native Computing Foundation technology integrations including Kubernetes, K3, Rancher, Longhorn, Keycloak, and Kyverno is preferred.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, and CloudFormation is preferred.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and automation tools including GitLab, Bamboo, Argo CD, and GitHub is preferred.
  • Experience with scripting languages including Python, Bash, and PowerShell is preferred.
  • Experience with API development and integration is preferred.
  • Experience with database management using SQL and NoSQL is preferred.
  • Experience with computer networking and SD-WAN is preferred.
  • Experience with system administration for Windows, RHEL, Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu is preferred.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools including ELK Stack, Loki, Grafana, Mimir, Tempo, Alloy, and OpenTelemetry is preferred.
  • Expertise with version control systems, including Git, is preferred.
  • Experience with cybersecurity best practices including NIST, RMF, CMMC, ACAS, SAST, and DAST is preferred.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity and operability with virtualization are preferred.
