Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 11 years’ related wealth management, investment, trust or estate planning experience working with complex tax and legal issues
  • In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 15 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 11 years’ related wealth management, investment, trust or estate planning experience working with complex tax and legal issues
  • Minimum of 4 years’ managerial experience
Responsibilities
  • Direct and participate in the development and management of wealth client relationships with individuals, business owners and families.
  • Work closely with families and their advisors to ensure the relationship is handled efficiently and effectively in the delivery of services to these relationships. Refer client requests for additional products to the appropriate sales specialist within the organization.
  • Provide sales leadership and manages the sales process for assigned team. Establish team goals and track their performance.
  • Represent the Bank in civic and community activities.
  • Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • MBA (Master’s degree in Business Administration) or JD (Juris Doctor)
  • CFP (Certified Financial Planner), CTFA (Certified Trust and Financial Advisor) or similar certification
