What believers are saying

  • Enterprise demand supports expansion: Zoom reported 7.8% annual Enterprise revenue growth in August 2026.
  • Employees get senior guidance: Zoom's MentorMatch connects them with leaders, with availability varying by location.
  • Operations fund continued investment: Zoom reported $1.92 billion annual free cash flow in February 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Existing enterprise accounts shrink: Zoom reported 99% net dollar expansion in August 2026, below the break-even 100%.
  • Zoom faces bundled substitutes: Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace include competing meeting services alongside their productivity software.
  • New employee shareholders have limited influence: Zoom's dual-class structure concentrates voting control with pre-IPO holders.

What makes Zoom unique

  • Zoom avoids one-model dependence: its AI combines proprietary models with OpenAI and Anthropic.
  • Zoom limits outside AI data retention: third-party model providers use zero-retention policies, with exceptions for safety checks.
  • Zoom Rooms crosses platform boundaries: its conference-room software joins Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Webex meetings.

World ID for Zoom launches to help businesses spot deepfakes, as AI fraud losses could hit $40B

Tools for Humanity (TFH), the company co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania, has joined the Zoom ISV Exchange Program. World ID for Zoom is now available in the Zoom Marketplace, letting business customers verify that meeting participants are real people, not deepfakes. Customers can buy the tool and request Orbs, the hardware used for one-time Proof of Human verification, at their offices. The system matches a signed Orb image, a live selfie, and the video frame others see. If all three match, a Human Badge appears on the participant's video tile. Deloitte estimates AI-enabled fraud losses in the US could grow from $12.3 billion in 2023 to $40 billion by 2027.

Synthflow AI voice agents launch on Zoom Phone, going live across 700 Batteries Plus stores

Synthflow AI said its voice AI agents are now available on the Zoom App Marketplace for Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center. Enterprises can run AI agents and human teams in one workflow, with context carried across handoffs. Batteries Plus, a US battery and power solutions service center, has rolled out the integration on Zoom Phone across more than 700 US locations. Synthflow's agents respond in under half a second and resolve routine requests. When a caller needs a person, the agent transfers the call with the full transcript and actions taken. Batteries Plus chief information officer Kranthi Malreddy said the rollout took five weeks from kick-off to pilot. "Customers are pleasantly surprised by how natural conversations with the agents are," he said. Synthflow has processed over 65 million calls for more than 100 enterprise customers.

Toku extends carrier-grade voice connectivity to Zoom Contact Center in 14 APAC markets

Toku, a Singapore-headquartered AI-powered customer experience platform listed on the Singapore Exchange, has extended its local numbering and public switched telephone network (PSTN) connectivity to Zoom Contact Center. Customers can select it as their provider in the Zoom Admin Center. Toku has supplied connectivity for Zoom Phone since 2021. The contact centre service covers 14 Asia Pacific markets, including Australia, China, Japan, Singapore, and Vietnam. Contact centres need better voice quality, local presence, and regulatory compliance than internal telephony, and AI virtual agents add to the load. Each of their calls still needs a local number and in-country routing. "A voice agent is only as fast as the network it answers over," said Thomas Laboulle, founder and chief executive officer of Toku. Toku contracts with customers separately from their Zoom subscription.
