Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field is required.
  • Must be licensed, certified, or registered as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas.
  • Must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.
  • Must be able to meet the stated medium lifting requirement of up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform the required physical activities, including frequent bending, keying, reaching, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; constant hearing, seeing, speaking, and standing; occasional kneeling and overhead reaching; and frequent tasting and smelling.
  • Must use computers and telephones as required for the role.
Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health assessments, counseling referrals, intervention services, treatment plans, follow-up care, and crisis intervention services to clients and families.
  • Collect patient data through interviews, case histories, psychological tests, and observational techniques; evaluate the data to identify causes of problems and determine the appropriate therapeutic approach or referral.
  • Consult with therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff in therapeutic and casework activities, and refer clients to appropriate service agencies.
  • Participate in the review of clinical issues and program policies and procedures.
  • Participate in, lead, and coordinate training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills.
  • May lead paraprofessionals in the performance of clinical duties.
  • Complete and maintain documentation according to federal and state guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, guidelines, codes, licensing-board standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in mandatory training, in-services, educational programs, and professional self-development activities.
  • Maintain a safe environment through adherence to established systems and training programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
