About the Company

Oaktree Capital Management

Global asset manager specializing in alternatives

Oaktree Capital Management is a global asset manager focused on alternative investments, mainly in credit, equity, and real estate, with an emphasis on credit. It uses bottom-up, value-oriented, contrarian research to build portfolios that seek durable, risk-adjusted returns, investing in sub-investment-grade assets such as high-yield bonds, distressed debt, and senior loans for institutional clients. Its differentiate rests on a long track record in credit and distressed assets, independent operation within Brookfield Asset Management since 2019, and a reliance on proprietary research and strict risk control rather than macro timing. The firm’s goal is to deliver steady, risk-adjusted performance for public funds, insurers, sovereign wealth funds, and pension plans while growing assets under management within the Brookfield platform.
