Requirements
  • A Master's of Science degree with a Math and Physics concentration is required.
  • American Board of Radiology Certification or an equivalent certification is required within three years of hire.
  • No years of relevant experience are required.
  • Candidates must support Proton Therapy operations.
Responsibilities
  • Specify and acquire radiation-generating equipment.
  • Calibrate treatment machines and acquire and maintain dosimetry and health-physics equipment.
  • Review radiation treatment charts and instruct personnel on radiation therapy physics, dosimetry, and radiation protection principles and regulations.
  • Evaluate and interpret medical radiation treatment prescriptions.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to design and modify effective radiation treatments for patients.
  • Oversee and monitor treatment plans developed by dosimetrists.
  • Participate in the development and execution of equipment monitoring, calibration, and safety surveys.
  • Provide technical assistance in developing treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy.
  • Monitor patients and maintain established policies, procedures, objectives, quality measurements, and safety requirements.
  • Perform clinical research as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Zero to two years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Proton Radiotherapy is highly desirable.
