Requirements
  • An Associate’s degree in Construction Sciences, HVAC, or a related field is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience and knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems and components are required.
  • At least 4 years of experience developing and maintaining customer relationships are required.
  • One to two years of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
  • Ability to understand and communicate energy savings associated with proposed solutions is required.
Responsibilities
  • Market the company to new clients and develop turnkey solutions, including estimating and proposal presentation for mechanical and plumbing retrofit projects in commercial markets.
  • Manage existing customer relationships.
  • Assess existing mechanical and plumbing systems, identify issues, and recommend repair, modification, or replacement solutions.
  • Interpret drawings, equipment specifications, and jobsite conditions.
  • Apply lifecycle cost knowledge to develop solutions and proposals that improve performance while reducing long-term customer costs.
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to define scope and estimate requirements.
  • Determine project sizes, distances, quantities, timelines, costs, resources, and materials.
  • Develop detailed proposals for current and prospective customers.
  • Maintain account activity documentation, generate reports, and track customer and supplier interactions.
  • Create design-build solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Prepare, present, and respond to proposals, including requests for proposals and customized industry solutions.
  • Communicate repair, modification, and replacement recommendations to customers and internal teams.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities, deliver sales presentations, and address questions or objections.
  • Understand prospects’ technical and financial needs.
  • Follow up on leads and referrals, build rapport, uncover customer priorities, and maintain a pipeline of quotes to achieve booking goals.
  • Respond to customer concerns and resolve issues while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and external partners while maximizing profitability.
  • Plan and manage the schedule, including strategic management of quotes and opportunities to drive sales success.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to prepare financial justifications, including energy savings analysis.
  • Experience with industrial refrigeration.

Harris expands into Colorado through multiple strategic acquisitions. June 2, 2026 Harris has expanded its national footprint into Colorado through the acquisition of three companies serving the region's mechanical systems, controls and building automation markets. The move establishes a strong operating base for Harris in Colorado and significantly broadens the company's presence across the Mountain West. The expansion began with the acquisition of Colorado-based temperature controls company D.R. Associates (DRA), effective May 4. Founded in Denver more than 20 years ago, DRA has built a strong reputation for delivering dependable temperature control solutions tailored to the needs of Colorado businesses. The company serves customers across industries including healthcare, manufacturing and commercial facilities. Effective June 1, Harris also acquired Climate Engineering (CEI) and Centennial Controls (CCI). CEI and CCI bring complementary expertise in mechanical systems, HVAC solutions and building automation throughout Colorado. Together, the companies have supported a wide range of commercial and industrial projects across the region, helping customers improve building performance, visibility and operational efficiency through advanced mechanical and controls solutions. Their strong technical capabilities, customer-focused approach and deep local relationships further strengthen Harris' ability to serve customers across Colorado. Together, the acquisitions bring decades of local expertise, long-standing customer relationships and specialized technical capabilities into the Harris organization.
