  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Successful completion of CBRF medication administration training and required CBRF core trainings, including Standard Precautions, Fire Safety, First Aid/Choking, and Resident Rights.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of and commitment to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and confidentiality protocols.
  • Flexible availability to work beyond regularly scheduled hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to learn new technology.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Responsibilities
  • Administer medications in accordance with the Six Rights of Medication Administration: right resident, right drug, right dose, right route, right time, and right documentation.
  • Ensure medications are administered as prescribed and documented according to CBRF/RCAC guidelines and Department of Health Services regulations.
  • Monitor residents and tenants for side effects or adverse reactions and report changes to the supervising nurse or manager.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.
  • Store, secure, and dispose of medications in compliance with regulations.
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and ambulation.
  • Review and follow each resident’s or tenant’s Individualized Service Plan before assuming care responsibilities.
  • Report observed or suspected changes in a resident’s condition, behavior, or needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment for residents and tenants.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including tidying rooms, making beds, doing laundry, and disinfecting surfaces.
  • Assist dietary staff with meal setup, tray delivery, and resident dining needs as needed.
  • Support the activities team by encouraging resident participation and assisting with events.
  • Cooperate with maintenance and other team members to promote a pleasant and safe community environment.
  • Serve as a mentor and trainer to new caregiving staff by demonstrating tasks and best practices.
  • Coach and support new hires during onboarding and communicate trainee progress and development needs to supervisors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information in compliance with HIPAA and community policies.
  • Secure resident charts, medication records, care plans, and personal health information from unauthorized access.
  • Report suspected confidentiality breaches or privacy violations to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and ongoing in-service opportunities and complete annual continuing education requirements under Department of Health Services regulations.
  • Follow proper protocol during emergency situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Previous caregiving experience in a CBRF or RCAC setting is preferred.
