About the Company

Spirit AeroSystems

Manufactures aerostructures for airplanes

Spirit AeroSystems builds large aircraft structures like fuselages and wings for commercial airplanes, defense platforms, and business jets. It designs, fabricates, and supplies these major aerostructures to customers such as Boeing and Airbus, who then integrate them with other parts to complete airplanes. The company stands out because it spun out from Boeing as an independent supplier and operates at a scale focused on large aluminum and composite structures, with growth in defense and aftermarket services beyond commercial airframes. Its goal is to provide a stable, end-to-end supply of aerostructures, expand its defense and aftermarket offerings, and ensure reliable production across its key programs, including possible alignment with Boeing to stabilize the 737 supply chain.
