  • 10 years of software development experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with relevant technologies and platforms aligned to the role.
  • Experience with cloud-native services such as AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3.
  • Experience with build, integration, and deployment tools such as Jenkins and Maven.
  • Experience with programming languages and frameworks such as Java/J2EE, Python, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React.
  • Applicable certifications aligned to the technology stack.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native services and architectures, including compute, storage, and database services.
  • Experience with software build, integration, and deployment tools.
  • Travel as needed for the role, including divisional, team, and other in-person meetings.
  • Ability to fulfill business needs, which may include investing extra time or helping other teams.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and apply artificial intelligence, generative AI, agentic AI, and other emerging technologies in enterprise use cases.
  • Serve as a senior hands-on technical resource for Emerging Tech Labs, translating ambiguous opportunities into technical hypotheses, experiments, prototypes, and recommendations.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance across experiments and pilots, influencing technology choices, architecture patterns, and enterprise adoption decisions.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to evaluate platform fit, integration strategy, security implications, governance considerations, and reusable patterns.
  • Mentor engineers and technical partners through advanced knowledge sharing while remaining an individual contributor with direct responsibility for technical execution.
  • Lead technical design of proofs of concept, prototypes, and controlled pilots across technologies, platforms, and enterprise use cases.
  • Build working software and integrations to validate technical feasibility, architecture assumptions, platform capabilities, and key risks without over-engineering experiments as production applications.
  • Create design artifacts, experiment documentation, technical decision records, and reusable patterns that meet Enterprise Architecture and engineering standards.
  • Evaluate APIs, cloud services, AI platforms, data sources, vendor products, and emerging technology frameworks through hands-on technical testing.
  • Support the technical transition of validated concepts to engineering, platform, or delivery teams with clear architecture and implementation guidance.
  • Write maintainable prototype code and apply appropriate engineering practices for each experiment's scope and risk.
  • Use modern build, integration, testing, source control, and automation practices to ensure experiments are reproducible, secure, and technically credible.
  • Conduct technical reviews of prototype code and integrations and provide actionable feedback to improve quality, reliability, and reuse.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues across applications, APIs, cloud services, AI platforms, data sources, and integration layers.
  • Identify practical approaches for testing technologies where established enterprise patterns may not exist, documenting assumptions, tradeoffs, constraints, and risks.
  • Determine when an experiment has produced sufficient evidence to recommend scaling, further evaluation, deferral, or stopping.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and methodologies, including AI/ML, generative AI, agentic AI, intelligent document processing, and related enterprise platforms.
  • Identify technologies and technical patterns for enterprise experimentation and evaluate their relevance, maturity, limitations, and potential value.
  • Convert experiment takeaways into reusable technical guidance, platform recommendations, reference patterns, standards input, or decision criteria.
  • Provide expert input on experiment scope, technical feasibility, dependencies, data needs, risks, success criteria, and expected effort.
  • Plan and drive time-boxed technical experiments with clear learning objectives and decision-oriented outputs.
  • Balance experimentation speed with appropriate engineering rigor, security, governance, and enterprise architecture requirements.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, AI Strategy & Enablement, business sponsors, Security, Data, Risk, Legal, Procurement, platform teams, vendors, and delivery organizations.
  • Explain technical concepts, experiment findings, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders through oral, written, and presentation communication.
  • Demonstrate prototypes and communicate what was tested, learned, what remains uncertain, and implications for enterprise adoption and transition.
  • Support employee resource groups, mentor employees, volunteer, or join cross-functional projects to help shape company culture.
  • Champion company cultural norms, including using cameras when appropriate to onboard team members and build relationships.
  • Demonstrate a company ownership mindset by thinking beyond the boundaries of the role's immediate area.
