Requirements
- Have knowledge and experience in the Catholic liturgical year, liturgy, and ministries, along with one year of previous experience working or volunteering in a Catholic community.
- Be proficient at using computers and publishing with software programs including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Develop, schedule, implement, and monitor all Catholic Religious Education programs and activities, including assisting in program evaluation, coordinating volunteer support, and planning program improvements with the approval of the Catholic Chaplain.
- Coordinate facility, publicity, supply, and transportation requests with applicable outside agencies in support of Catholic Religious Education programs, and prepare facility use forms according to chapel procedures.
- Collaborate with the Protestant community as required for ecumenical activities and facility-sharing needs.
- Coordinate support for Catholic Religious Education and community-wide events.
- Assist the Catholic Chaplain in recruiting and working with program leaders and volunteers, including Religious Education teachers, helpers, Bible study leaders, and catechists.
- Maintain records and input data into the volunteer database tracker.
- Draft publicity for programs as directed by the Catholic Chaplain and prepare and submit or post Catholic Religious Education information to Public Affairs, base bulletin boards, splash screens, and other communication channels.
- Assist in preparing weekly parish bulletins for Catholic Chaplain coordination, approval, and publication.
- Prepare Religious Education announcements for Catholic worship services.
- Open and secure the chapel and other facilities used with the programs.
Desired Qualifications
- A degree in Education is preferred but not required.
