Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1 year of registrar-related experience is required.
  • Basic computer literacy is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record systems is required.
  • Superior customer service and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently is required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, push and pull 10 or more pounds, reach, talk, and hear is required.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a smooth workflow within assigned department registration areas under direction.
  • Oversee the registration process to ensure patients are registered courteously, confidentially, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Interview patients or representatives to collect financial and demographic information.
  • Accurately input information into the hospital's admission, discharge, and transfer and electronic health record systems.
  • Perform pre-registration and registration functions, including insurance verification and authorization.
  • Cover all areas of Radiology and work at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and Center for Community Health locations as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a complex clinic setting and/or patient access department.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
