Responsibilities
Read, comprehend, and present AWS best practices and strategies.
Build and deploy infrastructure and automate operations.
Design and automate security and compliance solutions.
Design AWS Data Lake implementations.
Design and develop AWS Data Quality and Governance solutions.
Develop technical content such as automation tools, reference architectures, and white papers to help customers build on the cloud.
Convey customer needs and feedback to support solution development and inform technology roadmaps; share implementation challenges and recommend expanded or new capabilities.
Assist with technical briefs documenting solutions and reference architecture implementations.
Work with Marketing and Alliances to write blog posts.
Develop proof-of-concept code to automate AWS account setup and configuration, including a Continuous Delivery Pipeline framework for repeatable, reliable, and secure deployment of configured and tested AWS infrastructure.
Develop Service Control Policies and account baselines to address customer security and compliance requirements.
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code for application infrastructure and automate delivery of configured AWS resources.
Develop application-specific configuration management modules to automate server configuration, including software installation and configuration.
Develop a Service Catalog Pipeline framework to orchestrate building, testing, deploying, and validating infrastructure automation code.
Develop proof-of-concept code for pipeline automation, including pipeline Infrastructure-as-Code.
Identify and document customer policies as statements that must hold true for AWS resource configurations.
Develop policy-as-code logical tests to verify AWS infrastructure configuration and block builds, take automated action, or alert on policy violations.
Design frameworks to run logical tests against infrastructure code or running AWS infrastructure, verifying resource configuration and blocking builds, taking automated action, or alerting on policy violations.
Develop proof-of-concept code for collecting, ingesting, cataloging, storing, and serving data from up to two on-premises data sources.
Build AWS data lakes using AWS analytics services in a multi-account environment.
Implement modern big-data lambda architecture for consuming and using data from batch or streaming sources.
Summary
The Associate Program is a fast paced, ultra-high intensity program that will take an inexperienced engineer and prepare them for working on AWS projects with the largest, most demanding, customers in the financial services industry.
The program is designed to enable high-potential individuals with hands-on experience to amplify their skills in an inspiring and safe environment. They will gain exposure to practical tools, strategies, and best practices for becoming a high-performing leader. Working interactively with other participants and organizations, they will develop key skills in the areas of innovation, communication, and adaptability—some of the most sought-after skills in business today. Development of POC code for automating the implementation of AWS account setup and configuration
Account Framework - Developing an automated Continuous Delivery Pipeline framework that will be used to establish AWS Accounts to configured, tested infrastructure on AWS in a repeatable, reliable and secure manner eliminating the need for manual intervention.
Security Control Policies - Development of the Service Control Policies and account baselines associated with the Customer’s security and compliance requirements
Creating a Self-Service Environment Framework
Development of POC code to automate the implementation of application infrastructure code:
Infrastructure-as-Code - Development of Infrastructure-as-Code specific to each application that can be used to automate the delivery of configured AWS resources specific to the requirements of the application being deployed.
Configuration Management - The development of configuration management modules specific to each application used to automate the configuration of servers including software installation and configuration
Service Catalog Pipeline - Development of a framework for orchestrating build, test, deployment, and validation of infrastructure automation code.
Creating a Self-Service Pipeline Framework
Development of POC code to automate the implementation of pipelines:
Pipeline Skeletons - Development of Infrastructure-as-Code specific to pipelines that can be used to automate the delivery of configured AWS resources specific to the requirements of the application being deployed.
Creating a Self-Service Compliance Framework
Development of POC code to automate the implementation of controls:
Policy Definition – Identification and documentation of Customer Policy in the form of specific statements that must be true about configuration of AWS resources
Policy-as-Code Development – Development of the logical tests associated with each of the policies established to be used to assert the configuration state of infrastructure on AWS in order to block a build in the pipeline, take automated reactive action, or alert on violations to the policy
Framework Development – A design allowing for the execution of logical tests against infrastructure code or running AWS infrastructure in order to assert the configuration state of infrastructure resources on AWS and block a build in the pipeline, take automated reactive action, or alert on violations to the policy
AWS Data Architecture and Data Lake Implementation
