Requirements
- Three years of experience with Hadoop development and implementation.
- Good knowledge of Hadoop architecture and HDFS.
- Proven understanding of Hortonworks Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Apache Spark, and Apache Storm.
- Ability to write MapReduce jobs.
- Hands-on experience in HiveQL.
- Ability to write Pig Latin scripts.
- Experience managing and deploying HBase.
- Experience with parallel distributed processing based on the MapReduce paradigm with Apache Spark.
- Experience with Java and shell scripting.
- Experience with Jenkins for continuous integration.
- Good knowledge of back-end programming, specifically Java, JavaScript, Node.js, and object-oriented analysis and design.
- Experience writing to network-based APIs, preferably REST/JSON or XML/SOAP.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills applied to the big data domain.
- Strong experience with deployments and administration in Linux/Unix environments.
- Eligibility limited to green card holders or United States citizens.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Hadoop solutions.
- Write MapReduce jobs, HiveQL queries, and Pig Latin scripts.
- Manage and deploy HBase.
- Perform deployments and administration in Linux/Unix environments.
- Install and configure Hadoop-based monitoring tools.
- Load data from disparate data sets using tools such as Flume and Sqoop.
- Work with workflow and scheduling tools such as Oozie.
- Use Java ecosystem debugging, profiling, logging, and monitoring tools, including jconsole, log4j, and JMX.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of installing and configuring Hadoop-based monitoring tools such as Nagios and Ganglia.
- Familiarity with data-loading tools such as Flume and Sqoop.
- Knowledge of workflow and scheduling tools such as Oozie.
- Familiarity with the Java ecosystem and enterprise offerings, including jconsole, log4j, and JMX.
