Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related quality engineering experience is required in a manufacturing environment, ideally involving machining or metal casting.
  • The candidate must have strong analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from extensive mathematical or diagram-based technical instructions.
  • The candidate must have advanced written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact with, influence, and build trust across all levels of the organization, from floor production associates to corporate senior leadership.
  • The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and Minitab statistical analysis software.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the organization's Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, AS9100, ISO 9001, and regulatory and legal requirements, and direct the activities of the AS/ISO Administrator to maintain system integrity.
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate procedures for maintaining quality, reliability, and safety standards across all manufacturing lines.
  • Oversee plant-level Advanced Product Quality Planning activity for the development and documentation of Process Flow, Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and Control Plans, and prepare and submit customer Production Part Approval Processes.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison with external parties on quality matters, including managing timely responses to customer corrective action requests and returned products.
  • Organize, promote, and lead companywide quality improvement efforts using data collection, control charting, dimensional inspection, and experimental design techniques.
  • Oversee the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Control work instructions, and lead value stream personnel training in statistical methods.
  • Participate in production meetings with sales, engineering, programming, and manufacturing teams to identify areas for quality improvement.
  • Drive growth, track performance, and provide training resources within the quality department to support succession planning and internal career pathing.
