Requirements
  • S degree from a 4 year college or university in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc) or equivalent experience and demonstrated knowledge of:
  • Automated assembly experience
  • Cell layout experience
  • MS Office experience
  • BIW product understanding & experience
  • Sheet metal fabrication and assembly experience
  • AutoCad experience
  • Plexus experience
  • Process improvement skills
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge
  • Exhibits problem solving & trouble shooting skills
  • Product dimensional data analysis skills
  • Previous GD&T knowledge
  • Interpersonal skills to work with others
  • Steel toed boots required on site
Responsibilities
  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
  • Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
  • Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Creates and maintains job elements sheets and standard work sheets.
  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement.
  • Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.
  • Leads and supports lean manufacturing initiatives; including, cost reductions and productivity improvements.
