Requirements
  • A high school degree or GED is required.
  • Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency with email services, Google products, Microsoft products, and digital resources provided by the library.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of technological devices, including mobile phones, computers and laptops, and tablets.
  • Ability to bend, lift, and carry library materials weighing up to 40 pounds, including up and down stairs.
  • A background check is required.
  • Two references from previous employers are required.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong public speaking, written communication, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt communication style and approach to effectively serve patrons across a wide range of interactions.
  • Ability to work two to three Saturdays per month.
Responsibilities
  • Create, organize, and execute the library’s adult programming schedule for community patrons ranging from young adults to seniors.
  • Develop and deliver programs such as arts and crafts, book clubs, guest presentations, and new community programs.
  • Staff the circulation desk by assisting patrons with library services, checking materials in and out, and answering the phone.
  • Provide a welcoming and helpful presence at the circulation desk.
  • Multitask, stay organized, and help create and continue to expand the library’s adult programming offerings.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
