Requirements
  • At least 5 years of relevant Canadian tax experience at a public accounting firm, specializing in tax compliance.
  • Enrollment in or completion of the Master of Taxation program or CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Courses.
  • Strong experience interpreting and applying Canadian tax legislation.
  • Proficiency in tax research methods and databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and budgets.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Review Canadian corporate, personal, partnership, and trust tax returns.
  • Ensure tax filings and related data are accurate, complete, and compliant.
  • Manage complex compliance files and coordinate deadlines.
  • Identify tax compliance issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Recognize tax planning opportunities and recommend strategies to minimize tax exposure.
  • Work closely with Partners and Managers on files involving complex tax structures.
  • Manage, review, and coach senior and staff team members.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
