Requirements
  • A BA or BS degree in agriculture, business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or another related field is required for state real estate appraisal licensing.
  • At least one year of related experience performing similar functions is desired.
  • The ability to work well with people at all levels, exercise initiative, convey ideas clearly, and make sound appraisal decisions is required.
  • The ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with all levels of management throughout American AgCredit is required.
  • Moderate travel is required in performance of the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate highly accurate work is required.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proficiency using a personal computer, email, word-processing software, and electronic spreadsheet software is required.
  • The ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting is required.
  • The ability to work at a desk and computer for extended periods is required.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare inspection reports on loans involving pledged collateral for new loans and loan servicing.
  • Complete real estate appraisals under delegated authority or under the supervision of a licensed appraiser.
  • Collaborate with lending, underwriting, operations, Hub Team, Retail Team, customers, and internal teams to provide timely and accurate service.
  • Assist licensed staff in developing real estate appraisals for large, complex valuations.
  • Gather location maps, assessor maps, aerial maps, soils maps, FEMA maps, property profiles, legal descriptions, and other information required to begin appraisal reports.
  • Collect sales information from county websites, multiple listing services, realtor websites, and other sources.
  • Develop relationships with realtors and others to obtain documentation and verify sales.
  • Research, verify, and enter sales into the sales database.
  • Complete the education requirements for real estate appraisal licensing.
  • Assist in locating and plotting area and neighborhood sales information.
  • Compile data for land-value trends and assist with drafting reports to management.
  • Provide written and verbal information about appraisal programs and projects to association staff and others.
  • Respond independently to requests for information and assistance from customers and association employees.
  • Monitor follow-up requirements in assigned areas.
  • Initiate written and telephone communications to obtain information and related documents.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
