Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children, such as academic or athletic tutoring, camp counseling, or youth volunteering.
  • At least 1 year of youth sports coaching or physical education instruction experience; the posting also describes this requirement as 1–5 years minimum.
  • Must have a high-energy, positive approach and a genuine desire to impact young children’s lives through sports.
  • Must have strong skill in at least one sport and working knowledge of the fundamentals of several other sports.

  • Must communicate clearly with children and parents, including using concise, grammatically correct written and oral language in professional interactions.
  • Must complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check (Live Scan), child abuse clearance, and mandated reporter training.
  • Must hold current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must be willing to travel between schools and program sites.
  • Must be able to demonstrate skills across multiple sports and respond to emergencies that may require running and climbing stairs.
  • Must be in good physical condition to carry out the position's responsibilities.
Responsibilities
  • Provide daily instruction and coaching in soccer, basketball, volleyball, and running or cross country, as well as other assigned sports, to students ages 4–14 across ability levels.
  • Demonstrate sports skills and tactics, explain their principles, assess student performance, and give students feedback on their progress.
  • Adapt drills, games, and equipment to each age group and ability level so every student can participate and succeed.
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, physical fitness, and confidence in each session.
  • Transition between sports, schools, and program schedules as assigned.
  • Supervise student groups, managing behavior and groups while attending to health, safety, security, and students’ personal and skill development.
  • Ensure the safety of students and team members.
  • Organize and prepare daily plans in a fun and creative manner.
  • Use classroom management skills to lead activities and create an inclusive environment.
  • Work with fellow Activity Specialists and collaborate on daily responsibilities.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students.
  • Follow the Impact Kids Code of Conduct, maintain the Impact Kids look, exhibit company core values, and adhere to company policies.

  • A bachelor's degree.
