  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in Component Engineering, Product Engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related semiconductor equipment industry role.
  • 7+ years of leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components used in semiconductor capital equipment systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering change processes, obsolescence programs, lifecycle management, and supplier-driven changes.
  • Experience working across global cross-functional organizations including Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Customer Support.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
  • Expertise in part standardization application and best practices.
  • Extensive exposure to Configuration Management CMII practices.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including CPIM methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with product lifecycle management systems such as the Teamcenter platform.
  • Proficiency in component management software and supplier databases.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, Approved Vendor List management, and obsolescence forecasting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry regulations such as RoHS, UL, IPC, and ISO.
  • Familiarity with electronic component testing methodologies and reliability assessments.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems, including SAP S/4HANA and material requirements planning platforms.
  • Experience supporting Copy Exact methodology, New Product Introduction, and global manufacturing operations.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Expertise in Design for Six Sigma methodologies for quality and efficiency optimization.
  • Ability to manage by influence, leverage strong relationships, and use process-focused strategies.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment, drive results, and lead change through collaboration.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategies to proactively manage component lifecycle risks, including end-of-life, obsolescence, supply constraints, and single-source dependencies.
  • Serve as the technical authority for component selection, qualification, and change management decisions during change management escalations.
  • Drive consistency and compliance with corporate change management procedures and industry best practices.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, and supplier partners to ensure component availability and continuity of supply.
  • Lead cross-functional risk assessments and mitigation plans that protect manufacturing schedules, customer deliveries, and business continuity.
  • Maintain an understanding of semiconductor capital equipment systems and how mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components interact within complex product architectures.
  • Provide technical guidance on component compatibility, reliability, performance, and qualification requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to provide standardization, platform reuse, and design-for-supply-chain initiatives.
  • Own the development and governance of component change communication packages, qualification reports, technical assessments, and customer notification documentation.
  • Ensure communications are technically accurate, complete, standardized, and aligned with internal and customer requirements.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to explain technical changes, manage expectations, and resolve concerns.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in technical communication across the Component Engineering team.
  • Lead the deployment and execution of Global Product Operations initiatives related to component engineering and change management.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and systemic risks, and implement sustainable solutions to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Establish metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators to measure change management effectiveness, lifecycle health, supply risk, and operational performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement, digital transformation, and process standardization initiatives.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global Component Engineering team.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members at varying stages of their careers.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.

4 chip stocks poised for strong returns in October amid AI boom

The global semiconductor market reached record sales of $403.3 billion in the second quarter of 2026, rising 35.1% sequentially, driven by artificial intelligence and advanced computing demand. June sales climbed 123.6% year-over-year to $134.5 billion. Four chip stocks appear well-positioned to benefit from the AI boom. ASM International hits $1.1B Q2 revenue, up 24% YoY with record ALD sales and $401M free cash flow

ASM International NV reported record Q2 2026 revenue of EUR1 billion, marking a 24% year-on-year increase at constant currency and exceeding guidance of EUR980 million. The semiconductor equipment manufacturer achieved a gross margin of 51.9% and an adjusted operating margin of 33%. Equipment sales grew 22% year-on-year at constant currency, driven by record atomic layer deposition (ALD) sales. Spares and services revenue surged 34% year-on-year at constant currency. The company generated record free cash flow of EUR355 million, supported by strong profitability and improved working capital management. Cash position stood at EUR1.2 billion at quarter end. ASM projects Q3 revenue of EUR1.1 billion and expects second-half revenue to exceed first-half results by over 20%. The company now anticipates 2026 revenue will surpass EUR4 billion, above its previous guidance range.

ASM International forecasts Q3 revenue of $1.2B on AI demand, beating estimates

ASM International forecast third-quarter revenue of about €1.1 billion ($1.25 billion) at constant exchange rates, plus or minus 5%, exceeding analysts' average estimate of €994.5 million. The Dutch semiconductor equipment maker cited strong demand from customers investing in artificial intelligence infrastructure. AI-related spending has helped offset weakness in automotive, PC and memory markets. Chief Executive Hichem M'Saad said the demand environment remained highly favourable in the second quarter, driven by sustained investment in AI infrastructure to support rapidly expanding compute workloads. Europe's second-largest semiconductor equipment maker reported second-quarter revenue of €1 billion, above analysts' expectations of €977.7 million.

ASM International appoints telecom exec Chris Figee as CFO as shares trade near $1,159 fair value

ASM International has named telecom executive Chris Figee as its incoming Chief Financial Officer, subject to shareholder approval at an extraordinary general meeting in 2027. The appointment comes as the semiconductor equipment maker's shares trade at €964.4, close to analyst fair value estimates of around €1,026. The stock has delivered strong returns, with year-to-date gains of 74.14% and five-year total shareholder returns of 250.72%. Analysts attribute the company's valuation to expanding demand for advanced logic nodes driven by AI and high-performance computing requirements.
