- Drive and operate semi-vans, roll-off trailers, and dump trailers for local operations and special projects.
- Follow dispatch instructions to move customer materials to disposal sites or client yards and facilities.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment, fuel the truck, and ensure transportation equipment is in good operating order before daily trips.
- Complete manifests, bills of lading, company forms, and marking and placarding documents for each load.
- Inspect drums and containers to ensure they have proper labels and markings.
- Maintain a logbook for Department of Transportation compliance and state and federal regulations.
- Collect waste material from customer sites and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste to facilities for unloading and disposal.
- Represent the company courteously when interacting with customers.
- Load drums or freight and line roll-off boxes and dump trailers.
- Arrive at the office, collect job paperwork, and load supplies and equipment for daily jobs.
- Drive to customer sites throughout the day.
- Label drums, sort waste streams, and complete hazardous-waste manifests at each stop.
- Respond to emergency spills.
- Submit completed paperwork and assist with unloading the truck as needed.
- Work 40 hours per week, including required overtime.
- Take on additional duties assigned to support the team and organization.
- At least 3 years of commercial driver’s license driving experience is preferred.

As GKN Aerospace's environmental response partner, Arcwood provided the specialized expertise required to safely manage hazardous materials, reduce risk and support the facility's path forward, while maintaining a strong focus on protecting workers, the surrounding community and the environment. The work included the safe removal, transportation, treatment and disposal of neutralized methyl methacrylate (MMA) from two unaffected storage tanks at the facility. Throughout the response, Arcwood worked in close coordination with GKN Aerospace and partners to support a safe, compliant, and carefully managed removal and preservation effort. Published July 01, 2026 | Updated June 30, 2026 Arcwood Environmental, a waste management and environmental services company, has opened new corporate headquarters in Indianapolis. Arcwood says the new 43,000-square-foot facility brings nearly 200 employees together in a modern workspace and reinforces the company's commitment to Indianapolis. Arcwood has operated in Indianapolis for 56 years and employs more than 400 people across central Indiana. The company says its headquarters project incorporated sustainability-focused design practices, including the reuse of furnishings and building materials from the previous tenant, diversion of usable materials from landfills, elimination of many single-use products and energy-efficient facility upgrades. Formerly known as Heritage Environmental Services, Arcwood rebranded in 2025. The company says it helps customers manage hazardous and industrial waste and emerging environmental challenges. In addition to its new corporate headquarters, the company operates two facilities in the greater Indianapolis area.
