Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical, metallurgical, or industrial engineering, or a related field; a technical college diploma combined with relevant experience may be considered equivalent.
  • More than three years of experience in manufacturing and/or supervising a work team.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English, with strong grammar and writing skills.
  • Experience managing quality-work data and supervising the non-conformance reporting process.
  • Recognized experience managing records, including daily data entry, image and photograph filing, receipt filing, and work-schedule tracking.
  • Ability to communicate work progress and ensure that work is completed accurately and professionally.
  • Experience developing quality-assurance and quality-control documents and procedures and completing quality forms related to surveillance or inspection work.
  • Experience performing manufacturer quality verification and witnessing fabrication and assembly tests.
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, provide performance feedback, report work progress to managers, solve problems, work independently with minimal supervision, and develop, review, and approve internal and external reports.
  • Strong written, reading, and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing, adapting to changing needs, organizing field services, preparing project closeout, and applying project lessons learned.
  • Ability to write detailed and complete technical reports using Microsoft Word and/or Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions safely and promptly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and professional environment.
  • Ability to work both in groups and independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure and occasionally work extended hours.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other SGS locations.

Responsibilities
  • Execute tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  • Serve as the first line of communication with clients and/or suppliers to obtain information required for the work and understand the requested work scope.
  • Identify and analyze client needs and review technical specifications.
  • Create new client accounts.
  • Enter data in MSFS or KAES for all stages of daily activities.
  • Issue requests for bids in collaboration with the coordinator, as needed.
  • Plan and prepare work assignments, documents, and equipment in collaboration with the coordinator.
  • Coordinate actions with the client and/or supplier according to client needs in collaboration with the coordinator.
  • Ensure that the forms required to finalize assignments are properly completed.
  • Review purchase orders to ensure compliance with the proposal and mandate.
  • Ensure the availability of equipment needed to perform the work and help the manager verify equipment-calibration validity.
  • Interact regularly with clients to ensure effective communication and smooth workflow.
  • Follow up with team members to obtain daily inspection reports, review, modify, and sign the reports, and send them to the client.
  • Track and manage project stages to ensure all activities are completed on time and track inspection hours.
  • Track and manage monthly contractor invoicing, including approval and submission to the client.
  • Track invoices and billing status.
  • Track project closeout documents and manage reports.
  • Produce month-end reports and provide progress-tracking reports to clients.
  • Ensure completed work complies with the mandate, is completed on time, and is performed professionally.
  • Electronically archive technical documents as needed.
  • Send preliminary reports to the inspection supervisor when applicable and transmit approved final inspection reports to clients.
  • Prepare inspection certificate drafts and obtain the operations director's signature.
  • Record project-related documents and applicable standards and transmit them to inspectors.
  • Perform technical audits of inspectors as needed.
  • Track maintenance of the company vehicle fleet as needed.
  • Prepare and reserve inspectors' travel through Egencia as needed.
  • Reconcile timesheets as needed.
  • Perform office administrative tasks, including recordkeeping, data entry, electronic filing, and courier shipments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Qualification as a welding inspector through the Canadian Welding Bureau.
  • PMP or a project-management certificate.

SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, has acquired a majority stake in Prescient Security, a US-based provider of information compliance and cybersecurity services. Prescient Security employs over 350 people and serves 5,000 customers worldwide, offering expertise in information security certification, penetration testing and compliance workflows across sectors including finance, healthcare and technology. The acquisition forms part of SGS's Digital Trust strategy, with the company targeting at least CHF 200 million in additional Digital Trust revenue by 2027 compared with 2023. Prescient Security supports major international standards including SOC2, ISO, PCI DSS and FedRAMP. SGS CEO Géraldine Picaud described the deal as a key milestone in expanding the company's Digital Trust platform and service portfolio.

SGS takes majority stake in US cybersecurity company Prescient Security. The goods inspection group SGS is strengthening its position in cybersecurity. 01.10.2026 21:41 To this end, the company SGS has acquired a majority stake in the US company Prescient Security. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Prescient Security employs more than 350 employees and serves around 5,000 customers worldwide, as SGS announced on Friday. The company specializes in information security, cybersecurity and compliance with regulatory requirements in the digital sector. Its customers include companies from the financial, healthcare, retail, technology and defense sectors. According to the information, the offering includes certifications in accordance with international security standards as well as so-called penetration tests, which are used to specifically check IT systems for vulnerabilities. Prescient Security also has its own technologies for automating compliance and security processes. With the acquisition, SGS is further expanding its strategic business segment "Digital Trust". The group, headquartered in Baar, aims to generate at least 200 million Swiss francs in additional revenue in this area by 2027 compared with 2023.

SGS launches $734.5M senior bond offering with 4.125% coupon

SGS SA launched a EUR 650 million senior bond offering on 22 September 2026. The bonds have a six-year maturity, due in 2032, and carry a 4.125% coupon. The bonds will be issued by SGS Finance BV and guaranteed by SGS SA. Proceeds are intended for general corporate purposes, including refinancing existing debt. Earlier in September, SGS received an EcoVadis Gold Medal, improving from its previous Silver rating. The company is scheduled to release its third-quarter 2026 sales update on 23 October 2026.
