Responsibilities
  • Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences, activities, and time with district leaders.
  • Follow company standard operating procedures at each workstation to support pharmacists and technicians in managing and improving patient health.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for production, pickup, drive-through, and drop-off to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Create positive patient experiences through empathetic and personalized service at pickup, drive-through, and over the phone.
  • Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone where permitted.
  • Solve or escalate patient problems.
  • Offer counseling, answer medical questions, and collect patient medical history under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist when appropriate.
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and contact prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where allowed by state regulation.
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
  • Complete basic inventory activities, including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and waiting-bin inventories, as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership.
  • Contribute to pharmacy operations by expanding clinical and technical knowledge and applying feedback.
  • Travel voluntarily to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed by the business.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies and procedures, including controlled-substance dispensing and recordkeeping and patient privacy and security.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics, where legally permitted and supported by training and certification.
  • Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status where permitted.
  • Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist on duty.
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions and report adverse reaction events according to public health requirements.
  • Review and collect patient information and track and document it for each applicable patient.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by a supervisor or manager.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to become immunization certified after meeting state regulations and completing required training.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across other market locations to meet business needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
