Requirements
  • Hold an accounting designation from an accredited university.
  • Have approximately 10 years of related accounting experience.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end closing.
  • Manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Define, document, and implement accounting processes.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Have experience with accounting software applications.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the production of monthly profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and net debt reports.
  • Review adjustments posted to period ends.
  • Coordinate with the Vice President of Finance for Sunlarus Energy Sales to include results in consolidated financial statements.
  • Review financial reports for accuracy and compliance with internal and external accounting guidelines.
  • Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations in accordance with the Responsibility Matrix.
  • Annually review and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
  • Train staff as appropriate.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver required documentation and schedules to the financial audit team in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a working relationship with the financial auditors.
  • Escalate issues to the Chief Financial Officer as they arise.
  • Implement general ledger software and work with related third-party vendors.
  • Close and roll month-end periods in Sage.
