About the company

Verathon makes medical devices that help clinicians assess and manage patients. Its main products are the BladderScan, a noninvasive ultrasound tool that estimates bladder volume, and the GlideScope video laryngoscope, which provides a live view of the airway during intubation. The BladderScan uses ultrasound to measure the bladder without penetration, and the GlideScope uses a camera on a slim scope to show the airway on a screen. The company differentiates itself with a focused, proven portfolio and a global footprint in more than 70 countries, aiming to improve patient care by offering accurate, noninvasive tools and clearer airway visualization that support better clinical decisions and reduce unnecessary procedures.

Verathon expands airway portfolio with SamplePro(TM) for BFlex(TM) 2, delivering a spill-proof specimen collection system.

Verathon expands airway portfolio with SamplePro(TM) for BFlex(TM) 2, delivering a spill-proof specimen collection system. Designed to protect the specimen and reduce handling risk in ICU bronchoscopy BOTHELL, WA, UNITED STATES, May 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ - Verathon(R), a global medical device company known for its GlideScope(R) and BFlex(TM) brands, today announced the U.S. launch of SamplePro(TM), an integrated closed-system specimen collection solution purpose-built for the BFlex(TM) 2 single-use bronchoscopy platform. SamplePro extends Verathon's leading airway portfolio with a self-sealing sampling solution that protects the collected specimen while safeguarding clinicians and patients. In ICU bronchoscopy, specimen collection during bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) and bronchial wash (BW) procedures has long depended on traditional specimen traps such as the Lukens trap. These methods require disconnecting suction tubing between collection modes, which can interrupt workflow, raise the risk of cross-contamination, and lead to specimen loss from spillage. Newer alternatives have addressed the tubing problem, but they still rely on open containers or manual locks, leaving the system partially exposed. SamplePro addresses that gap with self-sealing valves that maintain a closed system. What SamplePro delivers for ICU teams: - Specimen security: Self-sealing containers maintain a closed system from collection through detachment, protecting the collected specimen from spills and the user from exposed pathogens. - Simplified workflow: An easy click-and-connect setup reduces time spent preparing the equipment and switching between sampling containers. - Strong clinician preference: In a recent study, 100% of providers rated SamplePro's collected specimen security as excellent/good, and 85% reported a better sampling workflow compared to their existing device. Purpose-built for the BFlex 2 platform, SamplePro integrates with the bronchoscope to support consistent and reliable sampling, even when managing difficult secretions. Together, BFlex 2 and SamplePro create a fully integrated bronchoscopy workflow designed to reduce disruption during specimen collection. "Specimen collection has always been one of the more vulnerable steps in bronchoscopy, with open containers, tubing changes, and the risk of losing what you just collected," said Ashley Smith, VP of Airway. "SamplePro transforms the collection process. The system stays closed through the entire procedure, which reduces a real source of variability when specimen integrity matters." The bronchoscopy market continues to evolve toward more integrated, procedure-focused solutions designed to improve workflow consistency, simplify handling, and support ICU efficiency. Innovations like SamplePro reflect the ongoing industry focus on advancing bronchoscopy workflows through more streamlined, connected, and clinician-centered procedural technologies. SamplePro for BFlex 2 is now available in the United States, with additional markets to follow. Availability may vary by region. Verathon launches CFlex single-use flexible cystoscope with 70% more flow during instrument use

Verathon, a global medical device company, has launched CFlex, an FDA 510(k)-cleared single-use flexible cystoscope in the United States. The product marks the company's expansion into cystoscopy procedures, extending its urology portfolio beyond its existing BladderScan brand. CFlex is designed to address common cystoscopy challenges with integrated adapters, up to 70% more irrigation flow during instrument use compared with other single-use cystoscopes, and high-contrast imaging. The device features a 15 Fr insertion tube and 210-degree bidirectional articulation for improved manoeuvrability. The single-use design eliminates reprocessing requirements and scope repair cycles. CFlex incorporates sustainability features including a reusable cable and a handle manufactured with 80% bio-based plastics. The product was featured at the American Urological Association Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., in May 2026.

Verathon Expands urology portfolio with CFlex(TM), its first single-use flexible cystoscope.

Verathon Expands urology portfolio with CFlex(TM), its first single-use flexible cystoscope. Designed to simplify setup, improve visualization, and expand maneuverability in cystoscopy procedures. BOTHELL, WA, UNITED STATES, May 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ - Verathon(R), a global medical device company known for its GlideScope(R), BFlex(R), and BladderScan(R) brands, today announced the U.S. launch of CFlex(TM), an FDA 510(k)-cleared single-use flexible cystoscope. CFlex extends Verathon's urology portfolio into cystoscopy, applying the company's single-use endoscopy experience to a design built for cystoscopy workflow. The product will be featured at the Verathon Booth (#807) at AUA 2026 in Washington, D.C., May 15-18. In both office and operating room settings, cystoscopy can be slowed by setup complexity, reduced irrigation flow during instrument use, and visualization challenges that extend procedure time. CFlex is engineered to address these challenges with integrated adapters, up to 70% more flow during instrument use compared with other currently available single-use cystoscopes, and high contrast imaging. Additionally, it features a tapered, slim 15 Fr insertion tube designed to support patient comfort. What CFlex delivers for urologists: - Reduces setup steps and supports clinician control of flow with a dedicated irrigation inlet, built-in adapters, and fingertip flow control, with fewer hand-offs during setup. - Provides up to 70% more flow when an instrument is inserted1. Its larger (7.2 Fr) channel delivers more irrigation, helping maintain a clear field in cloudy or bloody environments. - Supports clear visualization of anatomy with high-contrast imaging and accurate color. - Expands the field of view and supports access across the bladder with 210° bidirectional articulation, which can help reduce the need for repositioning. Beyond the scope itself, CFlex is designed for the full procedure; it pairs with Verathon's CystoView 15-inch Full HD monitor and a cystoscopy cart for quick setup across office and OR environments. Because every case starts with a new scope, CFlex eliminates reprocessing and scope repair cycles, removing a common source of case delays and reducing the risk of cross-contamination. CFlex also reflects Verathon's continued focus on sustainability, featuring a reusable cable to help reduce waste and a handle manufactured with 80% bio-based plastics calculated via the mass balance approach. Cystoscopy volumes in the U.S. are estimated to exceed two million procedures annually, with a growing share performed in office-based settings where setup speed and workflow simplicity are at a premium. CFlex is purpose-built for this shift. "CFlex marks the next chapter for our urology business," said Parimal Shah, SVP, Urology Business Unit at Verathon. "We built a urology presence with BladderScan(R) and a single-use endoscopy platform with GlideScope(R) and BFlex(R). CFlex brings those together, and it's the first of a broader urology portfolio." Verathon will feature CFlex at Booth #807 during the 2026 American Urological Association Annual Meeting (AUA2026) at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., May 15-18. Attendees can see live demonstrations, get hands-on previews, and meet with Verathon's urology team. The CFlex Single-use Cystoscope is a sterile, single-use, flexible cystoscope intended for endoscopic access to and examination of the lower urinary tract in adult patients. CFlex is 510(k) cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is now available in the United States. For more information or to request a demonstration, visit verathon.com/urology.
