Requirements
  • Previous experience working in manufacturing or a foundry.
  • Knowledge of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality regulations.
  • Physical fitness and ability to operate manual equipment throughout the working shift.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that work is performed safely and in accordance with all risk assessments and method statements associated with the relevant tasks.
  • Facilitate the progress of castings through the department using trained skills such as dressing, welding, inspection, knock-off, cutting, and heat treatment.
  • Help the team achieve weekly targets.
  • Inspect raw and finished castings using gauges and check sheets.
  • Cut castings using arc-air torches.
  • Manually handle heavy equipment throughout the working day.
  • Self-inspect castings using supplied gauges and drawings before releasing them to the inspection department.
  • Operate in accordance with the company Quality Assurance System.
  • Complete paperwork and route cards in line with quality procedures.
  • Work within Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
  • Maintain a clean-as-you-go policy and safe storage of castings in the department.
  • Ensure plant and equipment is safely maintained and fit for purpose, reporting and resolving defects.
  • Undertake training in other production areas as required.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the business.
