Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least two years of experience in residential or commercial carpentry or general maintenance is required.
- Mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving through schooling or on-the-job training is required.
- Good oral and written communication skills are required.
- A valid South Carolina driver's license is required.
- The ability to use hand tools, handheld and stationary power tools, and a vehicle is required.
- The ability to work at heights of up to 16 feet and carry up to 50 pounds is required.
- The ability to lift, push, pull, stand, bend, kneel, and crawl for extended periods is required.
- The ability to work indoors and outdoors in moderate and extreme temperatures and weather is required.
- A normal range of hearing and vision is required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Club facilities to a high standard.
- Tour designated facilities and check the proper operation of all equipment.
- Check work orders daily and ensure that member and guest areas are in good repair and ready for use.
- Complete repairs or installations noted on work orders.
- Assess buildings and equipment for maintenance needs, document problems, determine next steps, inform the Director of Engineering, and follow projects through resolution.
- Solicit input from Club and Real Estate staff regarding needed repairs in their areas.
- Conduct general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and buildings.
- Survey facilities for needed repairs, complete repairs, or coordinate with supervisors to complete them.
- Document problems found, work performed, and how issues were resolved.
- Perform other tasks and projects designated by the Director of Engineering.
- Conduct operations in a manner that prevents injuries and damage to property and equipment and complies with applicable safety and health regulations.
- Promote and adhere to the standards set by the Club.
