Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
  • Three months of patient care experience or equivalent is required.
  • Three months of experience working with medical equipment or equivalent is required.
  • A Certified Anesthesia Technician credential is preferred but not required, with an equivalent combination of education and experience of two to three years.
  • Experience in anesthesia equipment management is preferred.
  • The ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is preferred.
  • The ability to write routine reports and correspondence is preferred.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Set up, check, inspect, maintain, and calibrate a variety of anesthesia equipment.
  • Perform specialized anesthesia treatment procedures that affect the accuracy and reliability of processes associated with the anesthetic course of the patient.
  • Coordinate anesthesia and autotransfusion services, including technical and logistical support for physicians and hospital staff during surgical procedures.
  • Follow safety standards for patients, staff, and self.
  • Stock work areas according to required levels and keep them clean and organized.
  • Provide anesthesia equipment and supply-related support under the supervision of the Manager of Anesthesia Services.
  • Provide technical support to the anesthesia care team and hospital staff during surgical procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Certified Anesthesia Technician credential with an equivalent combination of education and experience of two to three years.
  • Experience in anesthesia equipment management.
  • The ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • The ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • The ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
