Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 9 years of experience reading and debugging Java, C, C++, software frameworks, Python, Shell, Perl, or JavaScript.
  • At least 9 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs and triaging technical issues involving hardware, software, applications, operations, or processes.
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • The ability to work shift patterns or non-standard hours, including weekends when required.
Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a global team of developers and consultants providing 24-hour customer support.
  • Manage customer problems through diagnosis, resolution, or implementation of investigation tools that improve productivity for customer issues on Google Cloud Platform products.
  • Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for sales and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
  • Build in-depth knowledge of Google's product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing issues, determining root causes, and building tools for faster diagnosis.
  • Work closely with product and development teams to improve product supportability.
  • Interact with Site Reliability Developers teams to drive high-quality production.
  • Own large and important customer issues while providing level-two support to other support teams.
  • Troubleshoot customer technical problems through debugging, networking, system administration, documentation updates, and coding or scripting when needed.
  • Improve products, tools, processes, and documentation to make Google Cloud products easier to adopt and use.
  • Understand and advocate for customer issues to help drive the success of Google Cloud.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with virtualization and containers, including Docker, Kubernetes, image repositories, Docker client, and kubectl.
  • Experience writing and executing SQL queries against large datasets and log files to troubleshoot technical issues and analyze usage patterns.
  • In-depth network troubleshooting experience, including collecting and reading packet captures.
  • Knowledge of core data structures and concepts, HTTP protocol, web frameworks, and common web technologies.
  • System and network administrator-level knowledge of Linux, Unix, or other operating systems, including kernels, shells, file systems, and client-server protocols.
