  • An associate degree is required, or a high school diploma/GED with equivalent work experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Five years of experience in a medically related environment is required; surgery center experience is a plus.
  • Experience supervising non-medical teammates is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
  • Experience with patient admissions, scheduling, and medical office operations is desired.
  • Understanding of insurance processes, including the verification process, is required.
  • Computer experience with Excel, Word, medical billing software, and applications is required.
  • Experience with SharePoint and SurveyMonkey is preferred but not required.
  • Good communication skills and phone etiquette are required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide operational support to the facility through business office functions including human resources, medical records, credentialing, admissions and intake, accounts payable, billing, collections, clinical logs, and month-end reporting.
  • Coordinate the Business Office team and functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Directly supervise non-medical personnel, including orientation, ongoing coaching, and annual evaluations.
  • Manage human resource procedures.
  • Serve as the working manager and backup to all business office teammates.
  • Ensure administrative and accounting procedures are completed timely and accurately and monitor reports.
  • Manage office supplies and equipment and serve as the main contact for building maintenance items.
  • Act as liaison with the billing company, building maintenance, and housekeeping companies, including contract evaluation and negotiations.
  • Complete payroll accurately and timely and forward it to corporate for processing.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Director to improve the efficiency of overall operations and report activities to the Administrator.
  • Work closely with the Administrator to promote utilization of the Surgery Center.
  • Interpret and implement the terms of contracts with all third-party payers accurately.
  • Answer the telephone as needed.
  • Demonstrate annual competency in job tasks and equipment operation.
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative duties as needed.
