Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
- At least 10 years of construction project management experience is required.
- Knowledge of construction methods, Louisiana building codes, permitting, and regulations is required.
- Proficiency in project management software is required.
- Strong communication, leadership, and multitasking skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Plan project timelines and milestones and work with the design team to review plans for constructability.
- Review project budgets, track costs, monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and keep projects within budget.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing contractor contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Review and evaluate construction schedules, work plans, and project deliverables.
- Prepare and negotiate contract modifications, amendments, and field directives.
- Coordinate construction activities among contractors, owners, utility companies, and regulatory agencies.
- Serve as the central point of contact among clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
- Conduct project meetings and provide progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Oversee on-site construction activities and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality assurance checks and serve as the Engineer's Representative during construction.
- Review shop drawing submittals, requests for information, and change order requests.
- Perform field inspections and ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Identify project risks, including delays and safety concerns, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including local Louisiana codes.
- Maintain detailed records of project progress, changes, and issues.
- Provide regular reports to clients and senior management.
- Coordinate project closeout activities, punch lists, and final acceptance documentation.
