Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design/Art, 3D Art, Game Design or related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • 6 years’ experience successfully delivering 3D models in VFX, gaming, or similar studios OR 3 years’ experience working with Nike 3D teams
  • Expert in polygonal modeling techniques; Modo experience highly preferred
  • Expert understanding of procedural workflows
  • Expert understanding of form, topology, and UV unwrapping
  • Expert knowledge of 3D software general use
  • Highly proficient knowledge of pipeline workflow
  • Proficient knowledge of applying colors & materials in Substance Painter
  • Proficient understanding of scripting tools for 3D workflows
  • Working knowledge of simulation
  • Very strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities
  • Utilize your expert polygonal 3D modeling skills coupled with detailed technical inputs to contribute to the creation of product accurate 3D footwear models that reflect Nike technical guidelines.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across a large volume of assets while taking and applying feedback in a timely and iterative manner.
  • Self-manage project resources and track project status to keep the team updated on progress.
  • Identify gaps in workflows and aid in the development of tools to streamline production.
  • Present the work to others as needed and professionally represent the team.
  • Contribute to the onboarding, mentorship, and quality control of Nike’s footwear production 3D modeling teams and 3D modeling teams based at external partners.
  • Review models completed by others, provide feedback, identify gaps in expertise and work with the artist to improve skills.
  • Help oversee special projects from beginning to end while providing guidance to the other artists involved and influence partners in the use of digital tools in the footwear process.
