About the Job

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training or degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, precision engineering, or a comparable technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in prototype construction and/or cable harness manufacturing in hardware-intensive fields such as robotics, automation, aerospace, automotive, or medical technology.
  • Strong knowledge of cable harness design and assembly, including crimping, soldering, IDC technologies, harness forming, lacing, heat-shrink, and braiding.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics, harness drawings, assembly instructions, and from-to lists.
  • Experience with connector systems such as Molex, TE, M8/M12, and custom micro-connectors, as well as shielded cables, twisted pair, and flex cables.
  • Hardware laboratory experience, including ESD-safe work, handling PCBAs, and using crimp tools, torque tools, multimeters, and cable testers.
  • Understanding of cable routing in moving or articulated systems.
  • Structured and precise working style, with the ability to coordinate multiple prototype builds simultaneously.
  • Good English skills for collaboration with engineers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Build, integrate, and rework electromechanical prototypes for different robotics platforms, from subassemblies such as actuator modules, sensor units, and PCBA housings through full system integration.
  • Develop, specify, and manufacture cable harnesses and wiring looms for prototype and pre-production robots, including connector selection, wire-gauge sizing, shielding, strain relief, and routing through complex kinematic structures.
  • Create and maintain harness drawings, from-to lists, wire schedules, and assembly instructions according to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and internal quality standards.
  • Support hardware bring-up by preparing wiring and sensor integration for new PCBAs and sensor systems.
  • Work closely with electronics engineers on functional testing and debugging.
  • Provide early feedback on manufacturability, cable routing, connector accessibility, and harness feasibility, contributing directly to mechanical and electronics reviews.
  • Manage prototype configurations, keep the hardware lab organized, and ensure physical assembly version control in collaboration with PLM/ERP systems.
  • Procure prototype parts and custom cables.
  • Coordinate with cable harness manufacturers and suppliers, qualify components, and validate first articles.
  • Identify recurring build problems and share root-cause findings with mechanical, electronics, and firmware teams to continuously improve design quality and build cycles.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in robotics or industrial systems.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as C or C++.
  • German skills.

About the Company

Neura Robotics

Cognitive robots with perception, manipulation, collaboration

Neura Robotics builds cognitive robots for industrial and service settings, combining perception, manipulation, and human collaboration. It develops both the hardware and the software stack for Physical AI, creating robot platforms like MAiRA, MAV, LARA and MiPA along with training infrastructure. The system works by integrating sensing, decision-making, and manipulation capabilities on a hardware-software stack that can be deployed in large-scale production, with the company planning robots fleets and NEURA Gyms for ongoing training and improvement. What sets Neura Robotics apart is its end-to-end approach to Physical AI, including a focus on mass production, an established global deployment plan, and a broad ecosystem of strategic backers and partners that support scaling and international expansion. The goal is to enable worldwide deployment of its robot platforms and associated training infrastructure, turning physical AI into widely available industrial and service automation.
