The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established in-house Internal Audit Team to lead the IT SOX testing program.
The IT SOX Internal Audit Manager will manage the delivery of our IT General Control (ITGC), IT Automated Control (ITAC) and Key Report SOX testing. This is a hands-on role with two direct reports and reporting into the Director of Internal Audit.
The IT SOX Internal Audit Manager will take a lead role, alongside the Business Process SOX Internal Audit Manager, in overall SOX program management, performance management and team training.
As a member of the Internal Audit Team, the IT SOX Internal Audit Manager will also have the opportunity to perform operational internal audits as part of the wider remit of the team.
Main Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and execute all phases of the Genius Sports IT SOX Compliance Testing Program:
- Work alongside the Business Process SOX Internal Audit Manager to, at least, annually manage the Scoping and Risk Assessment phase.
- Coordinate and lead, at least, annual process walkthroughs alongside the two IT SOX Auditors.
- Manage updates to SOX documentation, including the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) and process flowcharts.
- Manage the Test of Design (TOD), Remediation Testing and Test of Operating Effectiveness (TOE) testing phases as delivered by the two IT SOX Auditors.
- Review IT SOX Auditor workpapers.
- Provide advice to Control Owners on control design and remediation.
- Lead IT SOX Compliance Testing Program Update sessions with Executive and Senior Management.
- Coordinate with our External Auditors to align testing plans and to respond to documentation requests.
- Lead monthly meetings with Control Owners to provide training and testing updates.
- Mentor and develop the two IT SOX Auditors as part of the Genius Sports Internal Audit Performance Management Framework. Agree annual objectives and hold regular performance management sessions with both.
Required Skills
- At least five years’ experience working on IT SOX programs in either an in-house multi-national firm or an accountancy firm.
- Prior experience operating at a Manager level, including performance management.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Advanced Excel and Visio skills.
- Qualified or working to a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor).
Desirable Skills
- Workday, Salesforce, JIRA and PowerBI experience.
- Experience of using data analytics tools to support computer assisted audit techniques.
- Good understanding of software development.
- Tech industry experience.
- Experience working on Operational Internal Audits, including Project Governance audits.
