- At least three years of experience as a Fireman or equivalent in a boiler or heating plant.
- Complete familiarity with all types of plant equipment and their operation.
- Understanding of maintenance and operational manuals.
- Institutional experience.
- A Certificate of Fitness.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Assist the stationary engineer in operating and maintaining one or more high- and/or low-pressure boilers and related pumps, blowers, tanks, auxiliary generators, HVAC equipment, sump pumps, and other plant equipment.
- Assist the stationary engineer with boiler plant installations, replacements, and improvements as directed.
- Help maintain the plant operation log for the shift and note unusual problems or conditions for the duty stationary engineer.
- Serve on the hospital’s Fire Response team.
- Participate in hospital emergency and fire drills, performance and quality improvement, and other required activities.
- Healthcare experience.
