About the job

Requirements
  • Recognised legionella or water hygiene qualifications, such as ACoP L8, are essential.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements and practical experience managing communal water systems in accordance with HSG274 are essential.
  • Communal gas qualifications are desirable; demonstrable experience within a social housing gas management environment will also be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Take operational responsibility for compliance across the water safety plant.
  • Act as Contract Administrator, Contract Manager, or Supervising Officer for mechanical service-related contracts.
  • Develop and deliver strategic compliance plans, policies, and programmes.
  • Lead risk management, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
  • Oversee annual testing, inspection, and maintenance programmes.
  • Work with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to drive quality, safety, and best value.
  • Support the Building Safety Manager role and contribute to Building Safety Cases and emerging legislation.
  • Embed innovation and sustainability, including climate change considerations, into compliance strategies.
  • Lead the management and delivery of the water hygiene programme and associated remedial works.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager with communal gas safety compliance across the housing portfolio.
  • Oversee contractor performance, manage risks, and ensure adherence to relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practice.
  • Ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of water systems.
