Requirements
  • A master's degree with substantial relevant professional experience is required; a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field is strongly preferred.
  • At least three years of successful teaching experience in a college or university is preferred, with evidence of student learning and engagement through classroom evaluations.
  • Expertise in existing and emerging technologies in Computer Science, including their development, implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to incorporate real-world applications and scenarios into technology instruction and contribute to innovative curriculum.
  • Superior oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Passion for Christ-centered higher education and dedication to integrating faith and learning in the field.
  • Deep commitment to student success.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Brightspace, and other appropriate educational software and technology.
  • Commitment to learning new ideas for classroom presentations and dynamic class interactions.
  • A proven track record and ongoing experience in the candidate's professional field.
  • Commitment to the university's traditional evangelical Christian beliefs, Statement of Faith, Strategic Priorities, and lifestyle expectations.
  • Regular meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church and knowledge of the Word of God.
  • Ability to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends, and to make regular public presentations.
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, reach, balance, stoop, speak clearly, and use appropriate vision and hearing; occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds may be required.
Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned undergraduate courses in the College of Undergraduate Studies using classroom and online technology and varied teaching and learning strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate course curriculum, teaching-learning practices, and student learning outcomes.
  • Engage students, maintain established office hours, and provide individual consultations, coursework assistance, and informal mentoring.
  • Serve on faculty committees, task forces, teams, and meetings that support the university community and strategic priorities.
  • Pursue professional organization activities and scholarly work or professional practice, including publications and presentations commensurate with experience and academic rank.
  • Provide strategic thinking to fulfill College of Undergraduate Studies goals and support university strategic priorities.
  • Contribute to the university community, ministry partners, corporate partners, and general audiences.
  • Help develop a Christ-centered community of learners and scholars and integrate Christian faith and learning.
  • Provide servant and shepherd leadership among faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
  • Work effectively with administrators, faculty colleagues, and support staff to maintain positive working relationships.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities that support and encourage students, colleagues, and staff.
  • Assist the dean with other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
