Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Two to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, process control, and continuous improvement tools such as Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma is required.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities is required.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, analytical skills, and troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures on the shop floor is required.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze, develop, and implement improvements in manufacturing methods, process flow, tooling, and equipment.
  • Track key performance indicators and collect data from the enterprise resource planning system to support improvement initiatives and monitor project effectiveness.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, scrap, or downtime issues.
  • Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, and new product launch activities; ensure manufacturability and a smooth transition to production.
  • Design and specify fixturing, tooling, and layout changes as needed to improve workflow or quality.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, tooling, and production teams to resolve process bottlenecks or technical challenges.
  • Support capital equipment justification and installation, including development of Capital Expenditure Requests.
  • Track and report on engineering projects, downtime trends, and continuous improvement metrics.
  • Ensure processes comply with safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and updated work instructions and process documentation.
  • Work between the shop floor and an office environment and occasionally work off-shifts to support projects or troubleshoot issues.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with die casting or machining experience preferred.
  • Experience with die casting or machining is preferred.
