SilverEdge Cooperative

SilverEdge cooperative. Sohini Mondal Barchart 1 hour ago With a market cap of $64.8 billion, Vistra Corp. (VST) is an integrated electricity retailer and power generation company, serving customers, businesses, and communities across the United States. The company operates a diverse energy portfolio spanning natural gas, nuclear, coal, solar, and battery storage, with a focus on providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy through its customer-focused retail business. The Irving, Texas-based company is expected to unveil its fiscal Q3 2026 results before the market opens on Friday, Nov. 6. Before the event, analysts anticipate Vistra to report an adjusted EPS of $2.87, a surge of 64% from $1.75 in the year-ago quarter. It has surpassed or met Wall Street's bottom-line estimates in three of the past four quarters while missing on another occasion. For fiscal 2026, analysts expect Vistra to report adjusted EPS of $9.13, a 73.6% increase from $5.26 fiscal 2025. VST stock has declined 27.4% over the past 52 weeks, lagging behind the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 12.3% gain and the State Street Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF's (XLU) 6.7% decrease over the same period. Vistra shares fell marginally on Aug. 7 as its Q2 2026 net income declined 6.7% year-over-year to $305 million, mainly due to a $472 million unrealized loss on commodity hedges expected to settle in future years. Higher costs also weighed on results, with operating expenses rising 16.4% to $853 million and interest expenses and related charges increasing 3% to $312 million. Although adjusted EBITDA rose 31% to $1.77 billion on stronger realized energy and capacity prices and contributions from the Lotus plants, concerns over volatile hedging losses and power prices remaining below levels needed to support adequate returns on new generation pressured investor sentiment. Analysts' consensus rating on VST stock is bullish, with a "Strong Buy" rating overall. Out of 19 analysts covering the stock, opinions include 18 "Strong Buys" and one "Strong Sell." This configuration is slightly more bullish than three months ago, with 17 analysts suggesting a "Strong Buy." The average analyst price target for Vistra is $204.50, indicating a potential upside of 40.4% from the current levels. Vistra redeems $1B of 8.0% preferred stock, reshaping its AI power demand case

Vistra Corp. has redeemed all 1 million shares of its 8.0% Series A preferred stock at $1,000 per share, a total of $1 billion. Dividends have been declared through the October 15, 2026 payment date. The move removes an 8.0% fixed payout from the power producer's capital structure. It frees cash for common shareholder returns, debt reduction, or projects tied to AI and data centre power demand. Management expects more than $10 billion in cash in 2026 to 2027. Analysts forecast revenue of $26.0 billion and earnings of $4.1 billion by 2029, up from $2.0 billion today. Cautious analysts expect $19.7 billion in revenue and $4.0 billion in earnings, citing the risk that long-term AI power contracts become uneconomic.
