Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check.
Essential Job Duties
As a Financial Analyst in our FP&A department (Financial Planning & Analysis) you will provide the key insights and data that enable executive, division, and department leaders to make sound decisions and provide strategic direction across the entire company.
As a trusted advisor, FP&A works with functional leaders while partnering with our data engineering and operations teams. This involves a wide variety of daily activities, including helping with expenditure and headcount planning, building financial models, designing operational and financial reports and dashboards, tracking and monitoring KPIs, and performing rolling forecasts, trend analysis, and predictive analytics. FP&A truly has a seat at the table at BambooHR, which means that during a time of growth like we’re experiencing right now, you’ll be involved in many crucial strategic decisions!
You will:
- Effectively partner cross-functionally with other teams, including senior business leaders, to provide in-depth analysis and actionable insights to improve processes and drive bottom line results.
- Build financial models, run scenario analysis, and provide data analytics to identify areas of risk and opportunity.
- Assist in preparing departmental expenditure and monthly forecasts, ensuring all details are accurate, comprehensive, and completed on time.
- Meet with stakeholders to scope future projects and manage expectations on timelines
- Leverage data to tell a story and present it through data visualizations in compelling dashboards and reports to aid in decision making.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Finance Experience: You have 1+ years of experience in prior strategic FP&A roles (doing things like headcount forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, and financial reporting, BI/data analytics, etc.)
- Finance Education: You have a degree in finance or a related field.
- Excel Skills: You can often be found building things in Excel and calling it fun!
- Business Intelligence: You consider yourself a wizard in Tableau - you can whip up compelling and clear data visualization with ease.
- Business Acumen: You have a strong understanding of general business operations and management requirements, and the ability to model those areas, while inserting the data and intelligence to make them better.
- Executive Presence: You bring confidence, understanding, and empathy to cross-functional partnerships and are comfortable working directly with leadership teams.
- Proactivity: You’re a self-starter who takes initiative and strives for continuous improvement. Rather than waiting to be asked, you find what needs to be done and build solutions!
